So many ways to eat an Oregon Dungeness crab, but only one way to enjoy it: fresh.

There are people who plan their calendars around our crab season. For them, the “r” months are usually preceded with lots of “are we there yet?” It’s the same when the salmon are running, or the Albacore and rockfish are ready. In Oregon, seafood is more than pretty fish on ice in a supermarket case. Here, we get to pull it directly from the ocean, dig it from a beach, or pluck it from a bay. Want to taste Oregon? Rent a skiff and a few crab rings, hop on a charter boat, or just stop by a bayside fishmonger to see what came in that day. There are 363 miles of Oregon coast to explore, and lots of fine inns and hotels along the way.
